Kerrville will again be the Focus of Art and Music Fans on Memorial Day Weekend

The 15th Annual Texas Masters of Fine Art and Craft Invitational Show will be Friday, May 25, through Sunday, May 27, as 25 award-winning Texas artists transform the ballrooms of the Y.O. Ranch Hotel into a breath-taking gallery of original artwork. This show has become an annual “Collectors’ Showcase” as art aficionados travel from all over the US for the chance to acquire new treasures.

Downtown Kerrville will become a free festival from the county courthouse to the Guadalupe River with the 4th Annual Kerrville Festival of the Arts, a juried fine arts and crafts event featuring 125 artists in the 700-800 blocks of Water Street & 200 Earl Garrett St. on Saturday and Sunday, May 26 – 27. Show hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. There will be street performances and lots of other opportunities for family fun. Admission to the festival is free of charge with ample parking nearby as well as access by the free shuttle van. This year the Hill Country Quilt Guild Show will be at the Hill Country Youth Events Center, 3785 Hwy 27, Kerrville, 78028. Over 200 judged quilts will be on display, as well as wearable and fiber arts, boutique with hand-made items for sale. Hours are Friday & Saturday 9 – 5pm and /Sunday noon – 4. The Kerr Arts & Cultural Center is adjacent to the Festival of the Arts and will be presenting the Southwest Gourd Fine Art Show, along with other activities, May 26 through June 26, 2017. Show hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday 1pm – 4pm, and the Kerr Arts & Cultural  is on 228 Earl Garrett Street.  This show will amaze you with the inventiveness of the artists. One of the great Texas traditions returning for its 46th edition is the Kerrville Folk Festival. This internationally acclaimed  gathering of musicians  is held annually at the Quiet Valley Ranch, 9 miles south of Kerrville on Texas Hwy 16. The Folk Festival runs from May 25 – June 11, 2017, with performances by more than 100 singer-songwriters and their bands. In addition to the events that attract artists from across the state, Kerr County is home to many artists and craftspeople, making it a popular destination for art lovers. 15 galleries and museums, representing a diversity of styles and media, have formed the Art in the Hills Association to coordinate their exhibitions and create the”Hill Country Art Trail.” They can be accessed at http://www.artinthehills.com/.
