Roy Brown

Roy Brown has been pursuing his mastery of ceramic design for more than 40 years. After earning a Masters Degree in Fine Art from Southern Methodist University, he branched out from throwing simple pottery bowls, mugs and plates to forming vases, mosaic plaques and lidded urns. He began to incorporate forged wrought iron embellishments such as zoomorphic finials on lids, twisted handles and table stands.  During most of his adult life, Roy split his time working seasonally on his family’s north central Texas ranch, while also exhibiting his unique fusion of ceramics and metal smithing in juried art shows throughout the Southwest where he received many awards for his creations.

An accomplished metalsmith as well as a potter, Roy has taken a two year hiatus from art shows to build his metal smithy at his new home near Magnolia. He will be returning to the Texas Masters to showcase his new range of products, which include copper/iron ladles, scoops, comals and other utensils.
